Crazy's Miami Hurricanes Preview

Football may be back in Miami. It depends if they disqualify themselves or not. I believe that all these scandals will not become a distraction and will only be better for this squad.

Bold Prediction: Stephen Morris will have an amazing year capping off his college career. He will get himself into the first round in the NFL Draft. He has that talent & Miami has the offense to help him. Speaking of breakout years: Duke Johnson. He's going to have an absurd year. In my opinion he's the best running back in all of college football.

Let's go over the schedule:
Florida Atlantic-W
Florida-L
Savannah St-W
South Florida-W
Georgia Tech-W
UNC-W
Wake Forrest-W
Florida St-L
VT-W
Duke-W
Virginia-W
Pitt-W

Putting them at 10-2 in a bowl game & in the top 25.

The 6 Man Plan (New York Mets Edition)

Jenry Mejia, a 23 year old prospect who seems like he's been around in the league forever found himself in Washington this afternoon. Yes Washington is struggling, but Mejia was filthy.  He got 15 swinging strikes!  His final line- 7 innings pitched, 7 hits, 0 runs, 0 earned, 7 strikeouts. Lucky #7 for Mejia.

Now the Mets are forced to keep him in the rotation. Forced? Yes, forced. You can't keep a guy like this out of the rotation. Harvey-Gee-Torres-Hefner-Wheeler-Mejia is very underrated. Plus Harvey and Wheeler need to shed a lot of innings if the Mets plan on keeping them in rotation for the rest of the season.

Scott Atchison should be DFA'd to make room for Mejia. He's old, his velocity isn't good, and he's constantly injured.

The Mets can possibly pitch themselves into a .500 season and that's a good thing to have.

Cheater Cheater Pumpkin Eater

When you look up Ryan Braun's name today what do you see? Cheater? Liar? Addict? Idiot? Selfish? He fits all four of those words quite well actually.

Everybody thought that Ryan Braun had the purest talent in the world and was the next " Hank Aaron" When you looked up his name in 2011 you would see: MVP, ROY, All-Star, "next big thing"

Do you think Ryan Braun knew what he was doing? Absolutely!! He is a selfish individual who only cares about himself. Not his team, friends, family, or fans. He didn't care. H. was suspended in 2011 after his MVP season He got someone fired for doing their job and someone got his suspension overturned.

The MLB was furious they let him get away. At that point in time everyone knew he was on Roids. I bet even his own manager knew.

65 games and losing 3 million dollars is not enough of a punishment for the actions this man did. As one teammate of Braun put it " It's like giving money away to charity for him, he doesn't care about 3 million dollars"
Him and Alex Rodriguez should be banned from baseball for life. They've been warned numerous numerous times yet they still keep doing. They're like 5 year olds.

If the MLB were smart they'd make Ryan Braun give his 2007 ROY to Troy Tulowitzki and his 2011 MVP to Matt Kemp

Why Baseball is amazing (Story of the 2013 Boston Red Sox)

The Boston Red Sox were a joke last season. Beyond laughable. 69-93, last place in the best division in baseball. From day one Bobby Valentine had no control over is team and they underperformed every night.

The Red Sox hired their former pitching coach John Farell and all the puzzle pieces fell into place. This team is extremely talented and one of the best teams in baseball. After losing the bad contracts of Josh Beckett, Carl Crawford, and Adrian Gonzalez they've actually become better

This team is a Starting Pitcher and a Bullpen Piece away from becoming a championship caliber team. Look for likes of Matt Graza, Jake Peavy, Bud Norris, Francisco Rodriguez, Bobby Parnell, and Jonathan Pabelpon to be traded for. They have everything right in front of them.

Losing arguably their top 3 best relievers in Andrew Bailey, Joel Hanrahan, and Andrew Miller has only made them stronger. Although they might be in trouble if Clay Bucholz is indeed injured.

They needed someone to step up maybe someone like Wil Middlebrooks you'd think, right? No, he's currently in the minors. Dustin Pedoria and David Ortiz are both having MVP seasons. One of them is currently in talks to be locked up for $100 Million.

The Red Sox might be compared to the San Antonio Spurs and not in the way you think. This is the year to put all the eggs in the basket an try an win it all. This might be their last chance for a while. It's the Red Sox, trust me they'll be willing to take risks.

Crazy's Thought of the day

The Charlotte Bobcats have changed their name back to the Hornets. The name Bobcats never fit in right, it was awkward. In my opinion this is definitely a great move for the City. Will it draw more fans? Certainly!!! Will it help the team win more game? My guess is no.

MLB pitching match ups of the day:
Ricky Nolasco(LAD) vs Stephen Starsburg(WSH)
David Price(TB) vs Esmil Rogers(TOR)
Francisco Liriano(PIT) vs Mike Leake(CIN)
Anibal Sanchez(DET) vs Ervin Santana(KC)
Joe Saunders(SEA) vs Bud Norris(HOU)
Jeff Samardzija(CHC) vs Jorge De La Rosa(COL)
AJ Griffin(OAK) vs Jered Weaver(LAA)

The two must-watch games tonight are: Dodgers @ Nationals and A's @ Angels.

Also it looks like Matt Garza will indeed be dealt this weekend.

In NFL news today: The Buccaneers have traded CB Eric Wright to the 49ers for a 2014 conditional round pick.

Crazy's thought of the day

Today in sports:
Mike Miller was amnestied by the Miami Heat. Mike, was a key player in game 6 of the 2013 NBA Finals and is one of the reasons why Miami became champions.

RIP Jon Richardson, the son of Panthers owner Jerry. Jon, was 53.

(Yesterday's thought) Yoenis Cespedes who hadn't hit a HR in a month won the HR Derby and showed viewers how much power he truly has. He really has unbelievable bat speed.

Tonight is the 2013 ASG at Citi Field. Max Scherzer vs Matt Harvey.

AL Lineup:
Mike Trout-LF
Robinson Cano-2B
Miguel Cabrera-3B
Chris Davis-1B
Jose Bautista-RF
David Ortiz-DH

JJ Hardy-SS

NL Lineup:

Mets Young starts shine in the Futures Games

Noah Syndergaard standing at 6-6 has electrifying stuff that blows hitters away. He may very well be the centerpiece in the Dickey trade if d'Arnuad cannot stay healthy. In my opinion he's the best prospect in the Mets system. The Mets would be crazy to trade him away in a deal for an OF. Can you imagine a rotation of Harvey-Wheeler-Syndergaard-Niese-Gee? That's probably a top 5 rotation in the MLB. Lets not forget about Rafael Montero, who has great stuff as well. JP Riccardi says his ceiling is a #4, but he can be a #3. I do see him being dealt in a trade for a OF because he isn't as good as a prospect as Syndergaard is.

Mets fans should be happy. We have a bright future and it showed today at the Future Games.

What happens in New York stays in Vegas. (JVNONE Edition)

Jordany Valdespin is a joke of a professional ball player. He's the definition of immature, a 13 year old girl may be more mature. Valdespin's inability to hit and his child like behavior has tabbed him the nickname Jvnone. Not his self proclaimed one: JV1. Valdespin has been absolutely ice cold as a pinch hitter this season and to start flipping out crying after being demoted? Like this was a surprise? He was in hot water since May. The only reason the Mets hadn't demoted him earlier is because he is a utility guy.

On the other hand he was a very dangerous Pinch Hitter last season and has the most career pinch hit home runs in a single season for the New York Mets . I hope he can figure it out in Vegas, but he needs to grow up and act his age.

Kovy screws over Devils.

Ilya Kovalchuck will go down in Devils fans hearts with Steve Bernier, Mark Messier, and Stefan Matteau. The Devils were having a good offseason signing Michael Ryder and Ryan Clowe. Now Kovalchuk who has 12 years. 77 million  left on his contract had decided to retire and single-handedly screw over the Devils. The Devils will know how to handle this with Lou Lamoriello, who is one the greatest general managers in the history of sports. This will be tough losing Parise, Clarkson and now Kovy, but the New Jersey Devils will indeed figure it out!

Crazy's Patriots a circus?

Have the Patriots become a circus? I say yes. After Aaron Hernandez got charged with murder i said maybe, but now with Dennard getting arrested it's a definite yes. In my opinion Bill Belichick has lost his team. This team might not even break 9 wins. The defense is mediocre. The offense became worse. The Patriots have lost the " Patriot Way" and their swagger.

Lets be honest their offense is nothing special besides Brady and the o-line. Their running game is above average, but their receiving corps is mediocre. They get praised for every move they make like Tebow. Tebow isn't as big in New England as he was in New Jersey. But still he sucks and isn't an NFL player.

Hopefully this team is on it's way outs, coming from a Jets fan of course who despises the Pat-Riots.

Crazy's Yankees Report

Lets be honest, this is the worst roster the Yankees have put on the field in the last decade. They replaced injured all-stars with slow washed up veterans past their prime. The Yankees will finish last in the AL East and I'm being nice!!!

Look for the Yankees to make some noise at the trading deadline, maybe even dumping Joba Chamberlin and Phil Hughes for nothing. They need a hitter maybe some veterans like Marlon Byrd, Michael Young, etc.  Maybe a pitcher like Matt Garza. I expect the Yankees to be back and full strength for spring training while be busy this upcoming off season.

But for now if i were a Yankees fan I'd be worried.

Crazy's NY Giants Pre-Training Camp Report

The Giants are the best team in the NFC East. It isn't a lie. RG3 has one leg and will be forced to throw a lot. Romo is inconsistent and isn't trustworthy and same with the Eagles. They don't have the best roster. Their running game and o-line are going to be their Kryptonite, not their defense. David Wilson cannot pass block and Andre Brown is always hurt they need a veteran RB. Maybe the likes of Jackie Battle or Cedric Benson? The one person you can always trust is Eli Manning. If Hakeem Nicks can stay healthy and Victor Cruz can hold on to the ball the Giants offense will be scoring a lot.

On the other hand, their defense is the one thing that will be underrated. Their pass rushing will be back and the secondary will strive after struggling last season.

The Giants are the best sports team in NY right now and maybe they'll prove it this year. The Giants are a very dangerous threat in the playoffs! Look out!

Crazy's post sweep breakdown

Harvey, Gee, and Wheeler all started for the Mets this weekend. Who pitched the best game for the Mets? Harvey? No, Wheeler. Wheeler's line 7 innings, 3 hits, 1 run, 1 earned, 3 walks, 5 strikeouts. After being doubted from scouts and fans after shaky starts vs Washington and Chicago Wheeler has indeed bounced back. The Mets offense really came to play this week especially Marlon Byrd, who had a huge grand slam that capped off Tuesday night's win.

Is this a sign for things to come for the Mets? Maybe, maybe not. They aren't going to let what happens before July 31st dictate what happens on July 31st. The Mets stumbled into last year's ASB and quickly crumbled out of the race. Hopefully, this is the exact opposite. We can only hope because unfortunately the Mets will have to trade one of their key players at the Trade Deadline: Marlon Byrd. Byrd is not going to bring a big piece back, but a contender desperate for a bat may overpay. I see the Mets getting an AA player. Latroy Hawkins and or Rafael Montero/Wilmer Flores could be gone as well. The Mets need to trade for a proven veteran OF who can help them in the future.

If all goes well the Mets can finish at .500. If!!!!

This City is under new management!

The new look Nets with Paul Pierce, Kevin Garnett, and Jason Terry bring a dynamic feature that the Knicks cannot match. I truly think the Nets can make a deep run into the playoffs with their new and improved roster. Who has a better starting 5 than Williams-Johnson-Pierce-Garnett-Lopez? Very few teams. Their bench isn't bad either with Blatche, Terry, Livingston, Evans, Plumlee, Taylor, Telo, and Toko. With J-Kidd under the helm, this team can go far into the playoffs. Like Prokhorov said " I guarantee a championship in the next 5 years" He may be right and he has showed that he is willing to spend money. We have to wait and see, but this team looks in good shape.

Crazy day for Sandy Alderson

This is a "bad day" for Sandy Alderson. The only two major league contracts he handed out this winter will never throw a pitch for the Mets again.

Brandon Lyon was a low risk, high reward type of guy. He shined in the early half the season, but lately his stats have diminished. He was very trustworthy up until late May early June. The line that probably killed his Mets career was vs the Nationals, in a game most Mets fans try not to remember.

On the other Shaun Marcum is probably the best 1-10 pithcer in baseball. The Mets knew his track record and knew all about his injuries. It was a "big risk" that didn't pan out. Are the Mets better off without Marcum? Yes and No. No for the now being and yes for when Jon Niese is able to come back. For now Carlos Torres who posts an under 0.60 ERA out of the bullpen, will be a fine fill in for the now being.
