Why it's time to part ways with Geno Smith

After a brutal loss to the Broncos, the Jets improved to 1-5. Geno Smith looked 100% like that Geno Smith we hate. He showed some signs of brilliancy and gave Ryan Quigley his usual Sunday load.

Geno is immature, and that's putting it lightly. He has yet to develop the right skills and attitude to compete in the NFL, and week after week he has you wondering why he's your QB.

Geno shows a lack of urgency in the pocket, he'd rather wait for the pocket to collapse, than for him to use his legs. I've never seen a QB so inaccurate and so clueless, when it comes to the basics.

Of course, Smith has a lack of skilled players around him, but the thing is, Geno is not a skilled player and never will be. That's why it's time to look past this mistake and failure, and move on. Everyone makes mistakes, and John Idzik and co. made a huge one in believing that Geno Smith could carry an NFL workload.

Crazy's campagin to start Michael Vick

Let's be honest here, the New York Jets are brutal. The only parts of this team that have shown life are the Defensive Line and the Running Game of Bilal Powell and Chris Ivory. Geno Smith looks like a deer in headlights every time he snaps the football, he looks lost, and has looked like his old rookie self in every game in this young season.

The Jets have backed Geno (Mainly Rex, Richardson, and Decker). The Jets personally believe that Geno Smith gives them the best chance to win. Does 17-33 in pass attempts give you the best chance to win? Does turning the football over every game give you the best chance to win? No, and that's why someone, who is a veteran in the Marty Morrinwheg offense should be starting. The Jets have nothing to lose, they could easily start off 1-6 with Geno. Why not try the alternative and see what you have? Obviously Geno is not the Quarterback of the future, so why not try Vick?

Crazy's Week 1 NFL Predictions

As you all know, the Seahawks murdered the Packers offense and defense on Thursday night, the Packers stood no chance. Maybe the NFL can schedule a better Thursday Night opener next year, Like Broncos vs. Patriots? Look for the games this weekend, to be a lot more close, and a whole lot more exciting.

Jets over Raiders 28-17. Look for the Jets to blitz blitz blitz, Raiders rookie QB, Derrek Carr. He throws maybe a couple picks, and the Jets new and improved offense plays very well vs the Raiders mediocre defense.

Saints over Falcons 35-20. Just a couple of words here, Drew Brees to Brandin Cooks and Jimmy Graham.

Rams over Vikings 24-19. Shaun Hill will be just a little bit better than Matt Cassel, in a very tight defensive game.

Browns over Steelers 20-14. One of the worst games this weekend, these teams are pretty much even, but the Pittsburgh offense and defense looks too shaky to win this game.

Eagles over Jaguars 45-17. Nick Foles, LeSean McCoy, and Jeremy Maclin all have career days and embarrass the Jaguars defense.

Bengals over Ravens 27-24. No Ray Rice and a banged up Bernard Pierce = a Bengals victory.

Bears over Bills 40-21. EJ Manuel already scares the Bills so much, that they signed Kyle Orton and almost traded for Ryan Mallett. He will again show why he isn't the Franchise QB.

Redskins over Texans 33-16. Ryan Fitzpatrick embarrasses his coach Bill O'Brien and RG3 succeeds in his new offense.

Titans over Chiefs 21-17. The Titans offense just seems better, Kendall Wright, Bishop Sankey, and Justin Hunter will all play very well in a tight win vs the Chiefs.

Patriots over Dolphins 52-24. The Dolphins are the biggest mess in the AFC, the Tom Bradyians will pick apart the Miami secondary.

Cowboys over 49ers 42-35. An offensive shootout ends in a Cowboys win.

Broncos over Colts 38-31. Another offensive shootout ends in a Broncos win because, Peyton Manning!!!

Lions over Giants 28-21. Giants have too many holes offensively to win.

Cardinals over Chargers 27-17. Larry Fitzgerald and Andre Ellington will be too much for anything the Chargers put up against them.

Should the Mets buy or sell?

The last time the New York Mets made a trade near July 31st (The MLB trading deadline) was July 28th, 2011. The Mets traded Carlos Beltran for former 1st-round pick, Zack Wheeler. Looking back on this trade, the Mets fleeced the Giants and fleecing is usually what Sandy Alderson has done in trades.

He has acquired John Buck, Noah Syndergaard, Wilmuer Beccera, Travis d'Arnaud, Zack Thorton, Blake Taylor, Dilson Herrera, Victor Black, Kyle Johnson, Allan Dystrka, Ramon Ramirez, Andres Torres, Kelly Shoppach, Colin Cowgill, and Eric Young Jr via trade. Many of these names are not familiar or even "household" names, but Sandy Alderson has built a strong farm system via trade and, it's time to acquire MLB talent via trade.

10 Scouts where at Safeco Field today, reportedly checking out Mets players (most importantly Bartolo Colon) Bartolo pitched his heart out, like he would never pitch for the Mets again. He flirted with a perfect for 6 2/3 innings and was 7 outs from the 1st Perfect Game in New York Mets history.

His trade value is the highest it's ever going to be, and that's why Sandy Alderson should deal him immediately. Alderson will be reluctant to trade Colon unless he gets back players that will help the Mets in the future and the other team will eat most of the $11 million Colon is due next season.

Proposed trade: Bartolo Colon to the Baltimore Orioles for Franciso Peguero & Mike Wright (Two prospects, who could help the Mets immediately) The Mets eat $3 million from Colon's contract next season, while the Orioles would eat the other $8 million.

Other proposed trade: Bartolo Colon to the San Francisco Giants for Joe Panik, Heath Hembree, and a Player to be named later. The Mets would eat $5 million from Colon's contract next season, while the Giants would eat the other $6 million.

A very far fetched trade, that would gain approval of the fan base and fill more seats: Noah Syndergaard, Brandon Nimmo, Dillon Gee, and Rafael Montero for Troy Tulowitzki & cash.

Hopefully the Mets buy & sell at the deadline, and acquire assets to help their future. All we can do now is wait, and Lets Go Mets!!

Crazy's review of the Mets 1st week.

Today is April 8th, later tonight Bartolo Colon will take on Ex-Met Aaron Harang.

Last week had it's ups and downs if you were a Mets fan. I'm a Mets fan, and I hate to admit it sometimes. The first series of the season explained why. I will also admit I was one of the many to jump off ship, just after game 3 vs the Nationals. This bullpen is still a huge question mark and may lose the Mets too many games this season. The loss of Bobby Parnell is a big shot to the leg, but Sandy Alderson needs to get a Veteran RP to stop the bleeding. Household names like Kevin Gregg, Joel Hanrahan, and Ryan Madson come to mind.

This team, besides the bullpen has the talent to between 80-85 games this season. They showed me that vs the Reds. They have the fight in them to win, but when you can't hit and your pitching pitches good enough to win, there is something wrong.

Yes, the Mets are missing that Miguel Cabrera, Prince Fielder, Mike Trout, Robinson Cano, etc. type of guy,  but they do have David Wright. When he has protection, the guy can hit, and right now he is doing way too much. At least he is trying to. Basically what I'm trying to say is go trade Montero/Flores/Davis and get a 253/25/70 First Baseman.

The Mets may go 77-85 or 85-77, this team may be fun to watch or they may not, but in the end it's way to early to freak out at 2-4. Remember the 86 Mets started off 2-3.

Crazy's very early Jets Mock

As we all the know the NFL ended in a dreadful way last Sunday, but for some reason some of us (me) want football back already. So I will do a Jets mock draft for all my Jets followers.

1st Round: Jace Amaro TE (Texas A&M)
Jace Amaro is a big play, big hands TE. He was a big target for Manziel, and Geno needs a big target. Jeff Cumberland and Kellen Winslow simply didn't get the job done. I expect Cumberland to compliment Amaro as the #2 TE.

2nd Round: Marcus Roberson CB (Florida)
I know a CB? Really? Yes, but Cromartie is clearly not the same Corner, Milliner has come around and Wilson is a ok #3. The good thing about Roberson is he can flat out cover and he's very physical. The only thing he needs to watch out for is being too physical down field. Otherwise, very good pick.

3rd Round (From Tampa Bay) Christian Jones ILB (Florida State)
Jets need to get younger at the LB position. Jones is that missing piece. Great in coverage and great with his feet. Clearly a Rex Ryan guy.

3rd Round: Dakota Dozier G (Furman)
Not a "sexy" pick, but it gets the job done. Dozier is a very good pass blocker and will help Geno. Also could possibly succeed the ailing Willie Colon.

4th Round: Craig Loston S (LSU)
A standout safety who is the complete opposite of the awful, Dawan Landry.

5th Round: Ryan Grant WR (Tulane)
Jets need WR's, but this draft is deep. Plus they have money coming off the books and there is a lot of good FA WR's.
Grant is a steal in Round 5.

6th Round: Terrance West RB (Townson)
West has a pro body with explosive running ability. He would be a good #2 to Chris Ivory, because Bilal Powell isn't.

7th Round: Devon Kennard OLB (USC)
Good 7th round pick. A nice LB for Rex to groom.

Crazy's SB pick. Why the most hated team in the world will again be victors

Here are my championship game predictions:
49ers @ Seahawks  31-17 Seahawks, simply because the game is in Seattle and Russell Wilson has only lost 1 game at home. If this game was in San Fran I'd pick differently.

Patriots @ Broncos. 38-34.....Patriots. I like New England because Tom Brady is Tom Brady. I just don't think Peyton Manning can play cornerback and that's why the Patriots will head to the Meadowlands. Let's stop with the fairytale that Peyton can't play in cold weather and simply look at the Broncos secondary.

Super Bowl:
Patriots vs Seahawks. Huge game at the Meadowlands. If this game was out west in Seattle I'd pick Seattle, but It's not. That's why the Patriots will win...again. 31-24. Tom Brady is MVP (OF COURSE) Oh and Julian Edelman and Danny Amenolda will give Seattle's secondary fits. Don't worry Rex, Belichick gets another ring, but don't worry! You don't have to kiss them.
