The Injury bug bites the Mets twice
On April 21st, the New York Mets sit atop the NL East with a comfortable 1.5 game lead over the Atlanta Braves, who they open up a series against tonight. After winning 8 straight games in a row, the Mets look like one of the best teams in the MLB. Granted their 8 straight wins came against the Braves, Phillies, and Marlins, but good teams have to beat teams that they are supposed to beat.
On Sunday, the injury bug struck twice in Flushing. The Mets lost left-handed relief picther, Jerry Blevins and Catcher, Travis d'Arnaud all within a matter of minutes. d'Arnaud has to wear a splint for 3 weeks, and Blevins has to wear a splint for 6 weeks. The good news is, that neither injury requires surgery. So, the Mets will be without d'Aranud probably until Memorial Day and Blevins until Fathers Day.
The Mets have already lost David Wright to injury, so this d'Arnaud injury obviously does not help their offense. Curtis Granderson and Daniel Muprhy have got to step up, they have both respectively gotten off to horrible starts at the plate, so it is time for them to pick up the slack
Top Catching Prospect, Kevin Plawecki, has been called up to try and replace Travis d'Arnaud production behind the plate and at the plate,
The Mets are in win now mode, and they are doing what they can to win. 10-3 is a really good start, but if the offensive production drops off, so will the wins.

Breakdown of the 2015 New York Mets
Right now if nothing changes and everything goes as expected, the New York Mets will win 85-86 games in this upcoming season. Losing Zack Wheeler and Josh Edgin obviously does not help the cause, but the Mets having a surplus of starting pitching and trading for Left-Handed relief pitchers, Jerry Blevins and Alex Torres helps even things out.
This upcoming season, is the season of "If's". If Michael Cuddyer can stay healthy, if David Wright and Curtis Granderson can have bounce-back years, if Travis d'Arnaud, Jacob deGrom, Lucas Duda, and Juan Lagares can continue to develop into all-stars, if Daniel Murphy can keep hitting, if Jenry Mejia and Jeurys Familia can repeat last season's success, and if Matt Harvey can return to the ace he was. That is way too many "Ifs" to bubble the Mets in as a playoff team, but clearly all the pieces are there.
This roster is the best the Mets have had in several years, and if everything goes as planned, they can be a 2nd Wild Card team or maybe even be NL East divsion winners. Everything is in place for the Mets to succed this season. There are no more excuses to pull out of a hat. If this possible playoff team cannot win, the Wipons will be saying sayonara to Terry Collins and Sandy Alderson and having to start over again. New York is the biggest stage to play sports on, if you cannot win, you are not long in this city.
That is why the Mets need to win. I have them as an 86 win team, barely getting into the playoffs as a 2nd Wild Card team. The feeling around this orginization is that they will win this season, after a great spring from the hitters and pitchers. Only time will tell, expect for the worst and hope for the best with this team.

Why it is time for Darelle Revis to come home
From the start, the Jets knew they had something special in Revis. He was not your ordinary 1st round Cornerback, he was different, different in a good way. Revis brought something new to the game and absolutely thrived in his role. For about 3-4 seasons he was the best player in the NFL defensively and arguably the best Cornerback ever. He shut down Chad Johnson, Reggie Wayne, Vincent Jackson, and Randy Moss all in big playoff games. This showed everyone what he was made of and capable of doing. Revis packed up your suitcase and sent you off to an island, "Revis Island" to be precise.
When the Jets traded Revis, I remember being happy. It sounded like John Idzik was fleecing the Buccaneers. The trade ended up working out perfectly, the Jets got DROY, Sheldon Richardson and Antonio Cromartie stepped up to be the #1 Corner. The Bucaaneers ended up cutting Revis 1 year 1/2 later. There right at John Idzik's front porch was Revis, waiting to become a New York Jet again. The feeling was not mutual, John Idzik decided not to pursue him and clear cap space. That descion proved costly, when the Patriots came out of nowhere and signed him. Now to every Jets fan, Revis had betrayed them, he had gone to the dark side.
Without Darrelle Revis, the Patriots are not winning Super Bowl 49. John Idzik was the clueless little boy, helping the big brother finish the puzzle. Revis was that missing piece to the puzzle and did not miss a beat. He arguably was one of the best Cornerbacks in the NFL last season. Now that he is a free agent, it is time for the Jets to bring him home. He belongs here, he has always belonged, and never should have left. Yes,the holdouts were fairly annoying, but obviously they were worth it in the end. Some think $17 million per year is too much for a Cornerback, Revis is not a "Cornerback", he's a "Shutdown Cornerback" and deserves whatever money comes his way. He is the greatest Jet ever, not named Joe Namath. It is time for Mike Maccagnan to bring Revis home, and learn from Idizk's hideous mistakes.

1 yard away, Crazy's recap of the Super Bowl
After Seattle Seahawks wide receiver Jermaine Kearse made an incredible catch, the Seahawks looked like they were in position to take home their second consecutive Super Bowl trophy.
Until they weren’t.
Instead of taking the easy touchdown with Marshawn Lynch, they threw the football. Here’s the thing: Lynch is known for his notorious yards after contact and could have had an easy game-winning touchdown. Instead, the Seahawks took the road less traveled and threw the football on Second and Goal from the one-yard line.
What happened next was history. Patriot Malcolm Butler beat Seahawk wide receiver Ricardo Lockette to the punch and intercepted Russell Wilson’s pass. That play ended the Super Bowl and gave Patriots quarterback Tom Brady his fourth ring. That call to throw over run is now being called “The Worst Call Ever,” and rightfully so. The Seahawks were one yard away from winning one of America’s most prestigious awards and they blew it.
The Patriots outplayed the Seahawks the entire game, and probably deserved to win, too. The Patriots also benefited from luck: they were lucky that Seattle chose a pass play over run, or we wouldn’t be discussing this. Instead we would be exclaiming over Seattle’s 31-28 victory.
As it is, this game will be remembered for what it could have been and not for what actually occurred. This was arguably one of the best Super Bowls of the 21st century, and it will be remembered for the call that the Seahawks’ head coach Pete Carroll did not make.
